Zenkoji Temple
The main temple rebuilt in 1707 has a unique structure called “Shumoku Zukuri”, where there is a long and massive worship hall in front of the Buddhist temple, and is a masterpiece of mid-Edo period architecture featuring one of the largest Buddhist buildings in eastern Japan. It was designated as a National Treasure in 1953. The temple gate and sutra storehouse are designated as national important cultural properties.
